HIGHLIGHTS

The place where the temple of Kartik Swami stands today at Simsa, was so beautiful and serene that both Kartik Swami
and Srishtri Narayan wanted to settle at this place. Seeing that none was willing to let the other have his way, Lord Shiva
asked them to bring water from nearby Sarod Nallah in Channa (the…….( tool?) used to………. the grains) without letting a
single drop fall. Kartik Swamy won the race and settled at Simsa. Srishti Nayaran felt humiliated and settled in Aleo village.
He wanted to avenge his defeat and threw huge boulders and other missiles at Kartik Swami. The craters made by these
boulders can still be seen in the hill behind the temple. One big boulder is still there in the fields behind the temple.
Legend has it that once this temple was thrown down the hillside by people but the next day it was back at the same
place! This is known as ‘gol’ and is worshipped. The devta solves the disputes of people and dispenses justice.
